Biggest Loser Update!!

Over the last three months my department has been doing something really awesome. Since the first week of January more than 20 people joined me for a Biggest Loser initiative. Since then, my co-workers have lost over 200 lbs! I could not be more proud of these people that have not only partnered with me to create a healthy-working environment but have also started their own weight-loss journey. Lives are being changed!


Our pilot program during the last three months of 2014 including the holidays; Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, saw 13 co-workers lose approximately 80 lbs! Since transitioning back into the main office, I have seen numerous departmental changes take place throughout the office. Employees are rarely rewarded for a job-well-done with unhealthy comfort-style food days anymore; those days have evolved into healthier themes, where raw fruits and vegetables have become staples.

Receiving the approval to extend our program for the rest of the year, we hope to expand the Biggest Loser program to include even more people than we already. The desire is to see even more of our co-workers change their lives for the better. As I previously mentioned in an earlier blog, with our near 300 lbs of success, we are beginning to impact other departments within the university. The fever is catching; everyone wants a lifestyle of health and wellness!
