Time for a Celebration

First, how did everyone do over the holidays? My planning paid off very well for me, I’ll explain more about that later, and I hope yours did too! I had quite a few salads, steamed vegetables, raw fruits and vegetables, and other healthy options to get me through the holiday. However, I must confess that I had a slight mess-up one evening, I ate two Oreo balls and took one bite of a brownie – coming to my senses shortly after taking the bite of the brownie, I deposited the brownie into the trash can quickly. Other than that minute speed bump, the holiday went by very smoothly and I learned I had far more support than I originally realized. Praise the Lord for that!
Second, I have an amazing announcement to make. As of Tuesday, I have gotten rid of 104 lbs. in 20 weeks!!! Not only is this a phenomenal achievement in its own right, but this is also a benchmark of being at the halfway point to my annual goal of losing 200 lbs. by the end of July 2014. That gives me roughly 32 weeks to lose roughly 96 lbs. and I have all the confidence that I will achieve that goal. At the moment, I am still intoxicated by the surrealness of this moment of losing over 100 lbs., but equally excited as I ever could be for this achievement and for my future. This momentous occasion brings about a few thoughts; one, I have probably not weighed this little since the beginning of my college career, and two, I have never felt better in my life or at least that I can remember.
Finally, I implore those people reading this post, if you have ever contemplated starting a weight-loss journey of your own, do it today and don’t continue waiting for the right time because it will never be the “right time.” Also, I encourage those people reading this post, if you have already started your own weight-loss journey, but you are finding the holidays particularly hard to handle – please leave a post below, send me an email, or private message me on Facebook if we are friends and let me help you through the holiday season. The offer is the same for those folks needing encouragement for their weight-loss journey dealing with issues that may not be related to holiday food.
Thank you so much to those friends, family, and individuals that have come along on this journey with me, your support is invaluable to me and I really appreciate you. This victory, is a victory for all of us, thanks for helping me reach this goal.
