Having hit the half-way point of my
weight loss journey during this time of year really helps put a few things into
perspective. 1) I am thankful for things I have learned about my body and my
spiritual walk with Jesus over the last twenty-two weeks, ironically enough
they go hand-in-hand with one another. 2) I am thankful for friends, family,
and a whole team that has supported me and encouraged me each day, week, and
month of this journey; without them, this would have been impossible. 3) I am
thankful for being given a voice that allows me to share the story of my
journey and luckily I have been able to see some of those fruits. I have
realized recently, that I have a lot to be thankful for and that this journey
has not been taken in loneliness.
When I first joined Crosswhite
Fitness I was introduced to a group of men that had gone before me and lost
over one hundred pounds which caused me to think, “Wow, I’ll never get there,
but that is cool for them.” Some of those men took a great deal of interest in
my journey, having truly encouraged me and pushed me along the way their
influence has been invaluable to me throughout this journey. Now that I have
technically become a member of their “More Than 100 LBS” Club, I have had the
amazing opportunities of sitting down with others who are just starting their
own weight loss journeys and encouraging them to start strong, just as I was
encouraged.
However, looking forward at my own
end goal, which will take me over two hundred pounds lost, I still view it as
an insurmountable goal and find myself in need of support. I have truly appreciated
everyone that has come along on this journey with me and felt the earnest
inspiration and encouragement of everyone as well. I am truly thankful for each
one of you that fulfill this role in my life and I look forward to the
continued journey. As of the writing of this post, I have gotten rid of 111
pounds.
